God showed me a spirit of elitism that we must intercede against, as it is dividing people and nations. If we are willing to love God with reverent fear, are willing to turn away from sin, and work righteousness, then the Lord will accept us into his beloved and reveal to us that he is no respecter of persons (Ephesians 1:6; Acts 10:34–35). But in the world, we have to contend with a different mindset. The elite thrive on dominance. They seek to manipulate others through the power of their money and wealth in order to achieve their interests. This spirit desires the best of everything for itself and shows no consideration for others.
God exhibits the ultimate spirit of excellence and helps us to manifest in like manner. Excellence is not arrogance, confidence is not pride, and boldness is not brashness. We who are called, chosen, and sent by God need the boldness to stand against the schemes of the enemies of righteousness. We must wrestle against the rulers of darkness and spiritual wickedness that seek to spread through the elitist mindset. God’s word and even natural history provide examples of those who chose to stand in righteousness, in the boldness of God’s Holy Spirit. Don’t let the advances of the elite promote fear in you. Don’t let them bully you into looking at life through the wrong lens. They do not have the monopoly that their inflated wealth asserts.
Many have yet to consider that bullies are full of fear. If you haven’t, then more than likely you have been looking through a natural rather than a spiritual lens. Believe me, the righteous never have to back away from the truth of God’s word, which was true from the beginning (Psalm 119:160). Jude says those who carry the spirit of elitism are like clouds without water. Compared to the power of the Holy Spirit, you may say the elitist spirit is all bark and no bite. Under the right circumstances, the toughest of these wicked spirits will run when no one is pursuing them. But remember, the righteous are as bold as lions.
Daniel was steadfast and unmovable while opposing the evil corroborators of his day. He faced the threat of lions and prevailed. God has commissioned us to carry the Gospel without partiality to every nation, culture, race, ethnic group, language, or tongue (Revelation 7:9). The elites will lose in the end. If you need to cry out to God so that you can do what is necessary to operate with the courage that is required to finish your assignments, then cry loud and spare not. Ask God to make you bold so you can serve your generation. It’s time to call out the hiding force of elitism and face down this faithless foe!
